There are two types of washing, either manual washing or automatic washing using regular or automatic washing machines. As for manual washing, it has been dispensed with a long time ago, except in certain cases in which the normal washing machine cannot be used.

After the invention of washing machines, washing clothes became one of the easy and simple things for the housewife, and there are important steps that must be followed while doing laundry to clean it and preserve its bright colors.

1- Washing with automatic washing machine:

- The first step is to sort the clothes according to the color and type of fabrics, due to the different types of fabrics and their fabric properties, and pay attention to the colors so that the dyes do not dissolve on each other.

- Washing machines have a handle to determine the appropriate load according to the amount of clothes. When the clothes are few, a small size should be selected, but if the amount of clothes is large, a larger size should be selected.

Pay attention and read the washing instructions well for each type of clothing, as these instructions include the type of fabric from which this piece is made, how to wash it and how to dry it, as some clothes need to be dry-cleaned or washed by hand.

- Knowing the appropriate temperature according to the type of fabric and its color. It is recommended to use hot water for clothes that contain revealing colors. Cold water can also be used for dark colored clothes.

- Put the appropriate detergent, bleach, and softener for each type of clothing, and close the washing machine door well and tightly, including liquid

Some types of clothes can be dried using a washing machine, while others require normal drying.

2- Hand washing:

- The first step to do is to read the washing instructions.

The bowl that will be used in the washing process must be clean.

Pay attention to the temperature of the water used in the washing process, and the water temperature is cold to lukewarm, with a temperature of no more than 30 degrees Celsius. Washing can be started by filling the basin with water, placing the laundry detergent, and stirring the water to ensure that the detergent is distributed well and the laundry is placed in the sink.

- The clothes must be soaked in the wash basin for at least five minutes, and then rub the fabric of the piece of clothing well with your hands.

Wash it with water and cleaning fluid. After that, we fill the wash basin with clean, warm water, wash it well, and then take it out of the basin for the manual drying process.

3- Washing in a regular washing machine:

- We put the clothes inside the washing machine and start the process of adding water in the washing machine basin, where the temperature is appropriate for the type of clothes we will wash, after looking at the washing instructions for each type of clothes.

- Washing the washing machine. After completing the washing cycle, a washing cycle, we replace the water with clean water and do a second cycle to ensure that the laundry is cleaned in an excellent manner. After the completion of the second cycle, we take out the clothes and hang them to dry.

  General instructions for the laundry process depending on the type of fabric:

1- Cotton Fabrics:

- The washing instructions must be read for each piece of clothing, and special cleaning materials must be used according to the type of stains and dirt on them. It treats stains on the clothes.

Cotton is one of the materials that are affected by the washing water temperatures, and the moderate degree is the best so that high temperatures do not cause damage to the piece of clothing and shrinkage. Cold water is preferred in order to maintain color stability. It is advised not to use chlorine, as it destroys the cotton material.

One of the causes of wrinkled clothes is the use of the dryer to dry cotton clothes, so it is recommended to hang them to dry.

2- White clothes:

White clothes should be washed alone and not mixed with colored clothes.

Put the clothes in the washing machine at appropriate temperatures to maintain their whiteness and avoid the use of bleach and chlorine.

3- Dark clothes:

- Sorting clothes according to their color black, dark and lightly dark, and expensive clothes should be washed by dry washing method.

Sorting clothes according to the type of fabric they are made of.

- Sorting clothes according to their degree of soiling, turning the clothes inside out, and adjusting the washing machine according to the severity of the clothes.

Dry the clothes by hanging them in a place away from the sun to keep the colors from fading.
